your home inspection include? Most everything from the roof
to the foundation and almost everything in between.
On
the roof: the condition and potential life
expectancy of the shingles, the gutter system, the vents.
In
the attic: the framing, bracing, decking,
evidence of leaks, insulation.
The
exterior: trim, soffits, eaves, doors, windows,
framing, deck condition, exterior stack of the fireplace,
flue, flashing.
Electrical
system: meter, power panel, exposed wiring,
outlets.
Plumbing:cutoff
location, interior piping, pressure, outside bibbs, leaks,
waste line, vents, drainage, water heater location, serial
number, capacity, condition.
Heating
and air conditioning: serial numbers, brand,
location, temperature output, condition, ducts, supply, returns,
thermostat.
In
every room: entry doors, windows, walls ceilings,
floors, lighting, outlets.
In
the kitchen: model numbers of all appliances
and their condition, cabinets, counters, leaks.
In
the bathrooms: ventilation, drainage, sink,
toilet, tub/shower condition, leaks.
Garage:
door operation, fire-rated ceiling and walls.
The
foundation: building materials, visible portions
of walls and floor, cracks, support, floor joists, evidence
of animal or insects, dampness
The
exterior of the home: age of the house, landscaping,
address identification, driveway condition, stoop, utility
services, environmental issues like the possible presence
of asbestos, radon or lead
